Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B with a distinctive mix. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and at festivals in Europe. She has also performed at her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's the name of Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career singing and playing the piano at church. Her musical career began in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. The debut song featuring her voice was Stalk You the Japanese version of 12; since then it has been re-mixed and is now part of her set. Her voice has also been a part of voice for The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. The band was hired as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her voice and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of the nation during four performances per day at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
